Applying for a Dominica passport: requirements for obtaining Dominica citizenship
Section 101 of the Constitution of Dominica and Section 8 and the Section 20(1) amendment of the Citizenship Act establish the Citizenship by Investment Program in law, granting eligible applicants Dominica citizenship through a Certificate of Naturalization and allowing them to apply for a Dominica passport immediately. The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU), which sits within the Ministry of Finance, administers all aspects of this citizenship and passport program and ensures that only qualified applicants are accepted. The principal applicant must be at least 18 years of age and must meet all requirements.

Since 1 January 2026, the US has partially suspended the issuance of B1/B2, F, M, J and immigrant visas to Dominica nationals. The restriction applies to relevant nationals who were outside the US and did not hold a valid US visa on the effective date. Specific exceptions apply, and visas issued before that date are not revoked under this proclamation.
