Applying for a Dominica passport: requirements for obtaining Dominica citizenship

The Citizenship by Investment Program is legally defined in Section 101 of the Constitution of Dominica and Section 8 and Amendment 20(1) of the Citizenship Act, which legally grants Dominican citizenship to qualified applicants through the Certificate of Naturalization and the ability to apply for a Dominican passport with immediate effect. The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) of Dominica, which is part of the Ministry of Finance, is responsible for all operations of this naturalization and passport program and the unit ensures that only qualified applicants are accepted. The principal applicant must be at least 18 years of age and must fulfill the civil requirements.

Good reputation, clean background

The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program accepts only applicants of good character and reputation. In order to ensure the reputation of the Commonwealth of Dominica in countries around the world, Dominica only grants certificates of citizenship to applicants (members of the family) who are of unblemished character, the Government of Dominica utilizes an excellent due diligence agency to conduct due diligence on all applicants over the age of 16 years. Citizenship is only granted to applicants who have no criminal record and whose property is of legal origin. Upon becoming a citizen, an application is made to the Government for a Dominica passport.

Disclosure of health status

To obtain Dominica citizenship, applicants must complete a medical disclosure, including an original routine physical examination report covering health information such as height, weight, blood, and urine. Applicants must be in good health, must be certified free of any communicable disease, and the report must be stamped by a physician.

Legitimate sources of funding

The applicant must submit a form to the government regarding asset accumulation, sources of income, and liabilities, and since the applicant is required to either invest in Dominica's government funds or purchase a government-approved real estate project, in both cases, the applicant must pass an investigation and invest the funds after obtaining in-principle approval.
