2024: the year of exploring new chapters of life
I love traveling around the world and experiencing the uniqueness of various cultures, and have always thought the world was full of wonders and surprises. However, starting in 2020, the global pace seems to have come to a temporary standstill. I thought 2023 would bring us a fresh start, but the reality has been very different from expectations. Today, the United States is facing huge challenges to its international standing, and growing tensions in the Middle East are causing many to reconsider the future direction of their lives. InPrevious Post.In it, I share five countries that are, in my eyes, a relatively safe and livable option, especially for those who no longer want to live in a large country like the United States or the United Kingdom.
Traveling around the world, one will always find some places particularly appealing. Some people fall in love with the pace of life, others with the cultural flavor, and still others with its serene environment. For those looking for a change of scenery or a new opportunity, choosing a new country can really make a difference. Next, I'll go on to share the next five countries and their appealing residency programs in the hopes that they will open a whole new door for you in 2024.
VI. Thailand
Thailand, this tropical paradise in Southeast Asia, has been a top destination for many travel enthusiasts. As you walk through the bustling streets of Bangkok or on the beaches of Phuket, you will feel the charm of the place deeply. And now, for those who wish to experience Thailand for a longer period of time, the country's government offers the Thailand Elite Visa. For an investment of approximately $30,000, you'll receive five years of residency. As appealing as this visa sounds.
Thailand Elite Visa members are entitled to 20, 10, or 5 years of long term visa residency in Thailand under the Thailand Elite Card membership system, with free entry and exit, unlimited round trips, and the ability to apply for an extension of stay directly at the Thai Immigration Department without having to leave and return to their home country for processing. Elite Visa members are also entitled to a 90-day visa reporting service on their behalf. However, Thailand's Elite Visa does not offer traditional immigration benefits, will not gain the right to work or vote, and cannot become a permanent resident. However, for those who just want to enjoy life in Thailand and don't want to change visas too often, this is a very good option indeed.
Population of Thailand: Approximately 71.6 million people, official language: Thai
Immigration: easy; permanent residence: difficult; naturalization: difficult.
VII. Paraguay
Paraguay, located in the center of South America, is known as the "heart of South America". Take a deeper look at Paraguay and you'll find that it's more than just a natural treasure trove of beauty. It has ancient architecture, rich folk art and unique customs. Paraguayan specialties, such as cornbread and mate tea, are also unforgettable. Living in Paraguay means you'll be immersed in a community with a rich history, enjoying the tranquility of country life and the warmth of its people.
For foreigners wishing to settle in Paraguay, the immigration policy is relatively liberal. Residency can easily be obtained by depositing $5,000 in a local bank. Two years after obtaining residency, one can apply for permanent residency, and then one year later one is eligible to apply for citizenship.
