St. Kitts Passport Program Under Extreme Pressure as Government Fails to Function
Deputy Prime Minister fired, no-confidence case against the Prime Minister, dissolution of Parliament, dismissal of several government ministers, including the Foreign Minister
On May 11, 2022, St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Timothy Harris fired six government ministers, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and asked the Governor General to dissolve Parliament and remove Deputy Prime Minister Shawn Richards from his post. The Prime Minister said that the current situation could not continue and that the people of St. Kitts and Nevis certainly deserved better. But the fact is that Dr. Timothy Harris will become the first Prime Minister in the history of St. Kitts and Nevis to lose a motion of no confidence, after losing the support of 73% of the elected members of Parliament last month, in a complete failure of a motion of no confidence, and therefore asking the Governor General to dissolve Parliament, becoming the first Prime Minister in the history of St. Kitts and Nevis to be subject to a motion of no confidence and lose.

Seven government chiefs, including foreign minister, dismissed
Mark Brantley, leader of the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizens Movement, condemned the Prime Minister's decision to suspend six parliamentarians, including his own dismissal from his post as Foreign Minister.
Brantley said it was the first time in his life he had been "fired," and "if it wasn't so serious, I'd be laughing. He said he wasn't fired for poor performance because many local and regional people said he had done a great job as foreign minister. Brantley said he and five other elected members of parliament were fired for supporting the country and its people. The beloved country with 11 elected members, voted in by the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, is now down to five members (six because of the suspension of the prime minister). In condemning Prime Minister PM Harris, Brantley said, "It must be an overwhelming irony that a man who has lost his legitimacy as Prime Minister and the support of 73% of his elected members now claims to be sacking the elected members that the people voted for." The current ruler is and will remain more than just a voracious and insatiable appetite for power and self-expansion," Brantley said. The current prime minister, Timothy Harris, faces the prospect of losing his own seat, a slim chance of re-election and a government that has ceased to function.
The outside world questions: is brewing to break off diplomatic relations with Taiwan ...?
Nicaragua
On Friday, December 10, 2021, the Central American country of Nicaragua announced that it was breaking diplomatic relations with Taipei in favor of recognizing Beijing. This change in diplomatic relations comes one month after Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega was elected to a second term. Despite U.S. criticism that Ortega was not duly elected to represent the will of the Nicaraguan people, Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada issued a statement saying that the People's Republic of China is "the only legitimate government representing the entire Chinese people" and that Taiwan is Taiwan is "an inseparable territory of China". Beijing soon announced that the two countries had signed a joint communiqué in Tianjin to restore diplomatic relations.
Solomon
After the South Pacific island nation of Solomon Islands made the decision to cut diplomatic ties with Taiwan and establish diplomatic relations with China on Sept. 16, Taiwan's Foreign Minister Wu Chiu-sup announced that Taiwan would cut diplomatic ties with the Solomon Islands with immediate effect and completely stop bilateral cooperation, as well as close the embassy and recall relevant personnel. Sources said a team from the Solomon Islands that traveled to Beijing in August had agreed with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on $500 million in financial assistance, promising to complete the diplomatic process as soon as possible by Oct. 1. China will also follow Taiwan's aid practice by forming medical support and agricultural technology missions to the country.
St. Kitts and Nevis
The Prime Minister of St. Kitts has lost absolute votes in Parliament, and in order to keep his seat, he has dissolved Parliament, fired the Deputy Prime Minister, and dismissed several ministers, including the Foreign Minister, although similar to Nicaragua and Solomon in the past, the Foreign Minister has been replaced and a new Prime Minister has taken office, and there may be speculation about the involvement of foreign forces. Timothy Harris has reacted violently to his own inability to gain majority support from the electorate. There is no news of St. Kitts and the Republic of China breaking off diplomatic relations .
St. Kitts Passport Program
The St. Kitts passport has been a very good passport in terms of ease of travel and has received a very positive response from the Chinese market for a long time, but at this point in time, if the applicant submits before today, March, it is advisable to continue to wait.If you are only starting to apply for a St. Kitts passport now, there is a good chance that you will not get your passport this year! However, as of now, if the applicant submits before today, March, it is recommended to continue waiting.
How long will the turmoil last?
When to reapply for a St. Kitts passport
I think new applicants can wait until after the election results to decide, and those who are not under time pressure can probably start now. But for those who want to get their passports quickly, St. Kitts may not be a good choice this year. How can I renew my passport during this period when several ministers have been fired? Will the time for granting the certificate of naturalization be affected? All are areas of concern. If the naturalization application is already in the review stage, you will receive the results after waiting for a while.
