Prime Minister Rothfuss Kerrit's major speech in January 2021 mentioned three key points, an increase in the number of visa-free countries for Dominica, a visa-free agreement between Dominica and China, and a new version of the Chip Passport (ePassport or ePassport). ePassport refers to a traditional passport coupled with a bio-informational chip, which stores biometrics information such as eye color, height, weight and other important features. Some developed countries are already using the new chip passport, and even offer visa-free access to each other only to countries with chip passports.

Dominica has officially adopted a new version of the chip passport on July 19 of this year, and the Government also claims that the biometric data in the new version will make the passport more difficult to forge.
