Largest airport in the Eastern Caribbean

Because Dominica lacks an international airport with direct flights to Europe and the U.S., all travelers from abroad have to connect via neighboring countries such as Antigua and Puerto Rico, which has discouraged many tourists from traveling to Dominica.

Progress at the international airport
Prime Minister Skerrit said he has ensured that the International Airport of Dominica IKAO and the Eastern Caribbean Aviation Authority (ECAA) are involved in every aspect of the project, and that the World Bank has also provided assistance to Dominica, and that the World Bank's airport specialists will be involved in its project as an independent team of experts, and will review all the documents, the including documents from the American firm Landrum and Brown, which is working on the design of the airport.
